The School of Theatre and Dance offers certificate programs in entertainment arts and technologies, including sound, arena rigging, and stage and automated lighting. The school provides bachelor s degree programs in theater studies and dance performance and education. It also offers master s degree programs in advanced acting, design and technology, and theater history and criticism. The School of Theatre and Dance operates several student organizations that organize fundraising events. The school produces programs in Porthouse Theatre, which has more than 500 seats. It is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre and the National Association of Schools of Dance. The School of Theatre and Dance is operated by the Kent State University.
