John Eldridge is a licensed Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and Board Certified Ophthalmologist who specializes in the diagnosis and management of medical conditions affecting the eye, orbits, and visual pathways. As an Eye M.D., he is experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of the four most common causes of blindness in the United States: diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataracts. His special interest is in the field of medical ophthalmology, which also includes ocular inflammatory disease, retinal vascular disease, and neuro-ophthalmology. Many systemic conditions can affect the eye, such as diabetes, hypertension, atherosclerosis, inflammation, infection, and malignancy. - OphthalmologyDr. Eldridge is a 1983 graduate and former faculty member of the Northwestern University Medical School, and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the Eye Institute of the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 1987. He also completed an additional year of training in retinal diseases while in private practice in Evanston, Illinois. He has been in solo practice in Kenosha for over twenty-four years. Dr. Eldridge is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at St. Catherine's Hospital, and as President of the Kenosha Physicians Network IPA. His biography has appeared in Marquis Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the United States, and Who's Who in the World. He was named as an "Outstanding Young Man of America," and he is listed in the current "Guide to America's Top Ophthalmologists."
