Based in Kendallville, Ind., Mahoney Foundries Inc. produces and supplies lightweight aluminum castings in a variety of alloys. The firm houses a 37,100 square feet aluminum foundry. The various process employed to manufacture the aluminum castings include Green Sand, Gravity Die Dust, Airset/no Bake, Shell Molding and custom heat treating. CM Machining, a computerized machine shop, became a part of the Mahoney foundry in the year 1991. Its in-house operations specialize in turning, milling, tapping and finishing of aluminum castings. It caters its services to various major areas, such as plumbing, grey water systems, valve products, door hardware, electrical contacts and pump components. The brass and bronze casting facility of Mahoney Foundries Inc. is called Vermont Foundry Company.
