  During and after menopause, we recommend regular annual screening to check for breast cancer, uterine cancer, and ovarian cancer. We’ll also continue to monitor vulvar disorders.
• Cervical Cancer
  If you have an abnormal cervical cancer screening result, your healthcare provider may suggest a Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) as part of the evaluation and treatment. LEEP is one way to remove abnormal cells from the cervix by using a thin wire loop that acts like a scalpel (surgical knife). An electric current is passed through the loop, which cuts away a thin layer of the cervix. The procedure is usually done in the doctor’s office with local anesthesia. It is quick and effective.
