  Scope of Work: New construction of a 9,500 square foot new church with an additional 1,500 square feet of attic space, 11,000 square foot concrete pad for parish hall, and extensive site improvements.

  Scope of Work: New construction of a 3,500 square foot administration building. The project included administrative offices and work space, conference room, and restroom facilities. The civil work for this project included: BMPs, mass excavation, trenching and backfill, installation of a septic system, drywells, waterlines and asphalt paving. To obtain proper site drainage, 4 feet of unsuitable material was removed and replaced with structural backfill.
• Excavation
  Scope of Work: New construction and site work for a 3,106 square foot education center. The interior of the project included education rooms, conference space, restrooms and kitchen facilities. The civil work for this project included: BMPs, mass excavation, trenching and backfill, installation of septic system, drywells, waterlines and asphalt paving. A unique element of this project was that the volunteers of the Volcano Art Center wanted to perform certain tasks to help keep costs down. Heartwood's Project Manager worked with the Art Center staff to coordinate and schedule the work of volunteers. All volunteers were provided a safety briefing prior to working on site.
• Walkways
  Scope of Work: New construction of sixty 1-bedroom/1 bath Senior Housing units. The project also included extensive covered walkways that tied the development together, a community center, porte cochere, extensive site work, and community garden areas. Several of the units were designed and constructed for ADA accessibility.
• Irrigation Systems
  Scope of Work: Fire and seismic improvements to the 23,250 square foot Historic Volcano House at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. Work included repair and reinforcement of the stone foundation, shearwall bracing, roof reinforcement, gutter system, and installation of a Fire Suppression Sprinkler System. All work was completed to ensure compliance with NFPA's Fire Safety & Life Safety codes, while making certain that the facility's historic character was preserved.
