The Barstow School is a college preparatory school located in Kansas City, Mo. The school was founded in 1884 and serves students in grades kindergarten through 12. It consists of lower, middle and upper schools. The school s curriculum includes art, English, language arts, math, science, social studies, technology, music and reading. The school s foreign language department provides several courses in Spanish, French, Chinese and Japanese. The institution s fun elective program includes various activities, such as choir, ceramics, acting, painting, robotics, money management, speech, photography, journalism, 3-D art, tone chime ensemble and multimedia. Its athletic program offers several sports, including baseball, basketball, tennis, cheerleading, soccer and volleyball. The Barstow School offers various clubs, such as international, outdoors, knowledge bowl, yearbook, student political awareness, pep, earth, speech and debate, and science and technology clubs.
