In operation since 1983, Kansas City Railcar Service Inc. has been providing railroad freight car repair and maintenance. Based in Kansas City, Kan., it offers a range of services such as general maintenance, wreck repairs, truck rebuilds, wheel replacement, air brakes, fabrication and more. The company performs repairs on a range of Hopper cars, such as covered, open top, gravity and gravity pneumatic and also on all steel, woodlined and equipped Boxcars. Additionally, it is involved in repairing gondolas, steel coil cars, flatcars, bulkhead flats, spline cars, conventional and side dump ballast cars as well as on bi-level, tri level and articulated auto racks. The company also offers repair services on the Intermodel range including TOFC, Container, 3-Paks and 5-Paks.
