If you are considering an evaluation for a vein problem, or blood vessel problem, or a problem related to the heart and lungs that might require the involvement of a surgical specialist in this field, I would advise you to do the same thing that those of us in the medical physician (doctors and nurses alike) do when contemplating or seeking medical care:DO YOUR HOMEWORK!Selecting the right physician to evaluate a problem is probably the most important medical decision a patient or loved one can make. While doing so, please consider the following about Dr. Waterford:A graduate of the Stanford Medical School in California.He has a full decade of formal training beyond medical school, at many of the finest training programs in the world.He is initially and formally Residency trained and Board Certified in General Surgery.He is formally and separately and thoroughly Fellowship trained and Board Certified in:Vascular Surgery (a surgical subspecialty devoted entirely and exclusively to the treatment of problems with blood vessels, including the veins, arteries, and lymphatics).Cardiothoracic Surgery (a surgical specialty devoted to the treatment of problems with the organs in the chest cavity, including the heart and lungs, and requiring extensive additional training, manual dexterity, and creativity, and attention to detail for successful outcomes)He has received extensive additional training in the field of Phlebology (Venous Diseases). He has extensive training and experience with Vascular Ultrasound. RVT, or Registered Vascular TechnologistRPVI, as a Registered Physician in the Vascular Interpretation of vascular ultrasound studiesHe has more than a decade of clinical experience BEYOND medical school, residency, and fellowship training, with impeccable clinical results.He is a permanent resident of the state of Hawaii.
