The Division of Motor Vehicles and Licensing works under the department of transportation of the Maui County, Hawaii. It administers a registration and licensing program that issues new and renewal licenses for drivers, registers motor vehicles and bicycles and provides supervision for inspection stations. The division also issues disabled persons placards, business licenses and taxi permits. The Division of Motor Vehicles and Licensing oversees and supports commercial drivers licenses and periodic motor vehicle inspection programs. It additionally coordinates an abandoned and derelict vehicle removal program. The division maintains an online vehicle registration renewal system that helps submit applications.
