I am very surprised by the negative reviews of Aloha Rent A Car. We just returned from a Maui cycling vacation and were extremely pleased with our rental experience. They worked hard with us to find a van large enough to accommodate four bikes and four passengers (they even removed the third row of seats when we arrived to pick it up to give us more room). We rented a Ford Van that worked perfectly the entire trip. We were picked up at the airport within 15 minutes of calling them, and were delivered to the airport within minutes of returning to the rental facility. I communicated with them over the phone several times before our trip, and was always given reliable information in a friendly manner. Everyone went out of their way to help us, from the drivers to the office staff. The van was clean and perfect for all our gear... price was very reasonable as well.... We had the worst rental car experience ever. The car sounded like the wheels were going to fall off when you got to 40 mph. I called and came back to the location a few times during our trip and was told "sorry" our mechanic is not in today and "sorry: we have no other car for you. I had a person in a wheelchair and felt so unsafe driving this car anywhere other than a few milesfrom where we were staying which was 45 minutes from the rental place. I really felt like the company did not care about the customer at all. I knew that the car would not be new and I was okay with that, I just didn't now it would feel so unsafe. The car was such an issue that we didn't feel like we could rely on it to go site seeing or to do the things we enjoy while we were there. If the customer service had been there or other options for us it would have made all the difference. I rented this because of a word of mouth referral. Never again.

The online promise of a "clean" Jeep was not was we got. The Jeep was not even washed before we picked it up in the aiport parking lot ) they were closed when we arrived on the island) It was very dirty, sandy and the top was ripped in several places. What is expected and explained online is not what what you get!

Aloha Rent A Car is very unreliable. Thier online reservations do not really reserve a car for you. I had made an online reservation and they sent back a confirmation email of my reservation. Two weeks later they called and said they would not have a car for me. This was a week before my trip and I lost my chance at finding good price.
