Focus is a nonprofit agency that seeks to ease the life of the disabled children of the Jonesboro, Ark., area. Focus is funded by several different state grants, a federal grant and generous private donations. Focus was incorporated in 1978. Focus has a board of directors that is made up of parents of children with disabilities and professionals in the field of disabilities. Focus board members live in Craighead, Greene and Mississippi counties of Arkansas. Focus maintains locations in all three counties. Focus has a staff of more than 50 employees that include professionals, paraprofessionals and volunteers. The agency mostly serves children, but it serves about 40 adults with disabilities on a daily basis.
