Dick Burke, Jr., Owner and President of D.B. Homes, Inc had his first exposure to the modular home business when his father began to dabble in the industry. He quickly realized it might be the opportunity he had been seeking and founded D.B. Homes, Inc in 2000. The first office was an unmarked, family-owned garage in Dale Borough that offered no parking. Burke's brother-in-law, Keith Skowron, serves as the company's General Manager. Shortly after, D.B. Homes partnered up with Ritz-Craft Corporation, who has over 50 years of experience building modular homes and is located in Mifflinburg, PA.. After almost 100 completed homes, D.B. Homes has come a long way since it's unmarked office. In October 2006, D.B. Homes opened their new Corporate Office & Design Center on Eisenhower Boulevard in Johnstown, which offers 4 luxurious kitchen samples and countless other products and options for the homes. In 2007, D.B. Homes, partnered up with another manufacturer and began building Manorwood Homes, who is located in central Pennsylvania since 1993. They are part of The Commodore Corporation, who has been in business since 1952 and is one of the largest home builders in the Midwest and Northeast. Another milestone for the company was the opening of their first two-story model home in August 2008, which features 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and many other options. The Corporate Office & Design Center is opened M-Th from 8: 00am-6: 00pm and Friday 8: 00am-4: 00pm. Weeknights and Weekends by appointment only. To tour the model home, registration is required in the office before entering.
