We spent $8K++ on this system worked fine intially we moved from the city to the country (well), Rainsoft RI told us we needed to buy an addtional tank for $2K due to well water. When we bought the system intially the saleman said if we move it will work in any house & any water system. So we bought the tank reluctantly, that was almost 6yrs ago and they still can't get it to work right. Never mind the customer service has been horrible from day 1, owner is an arrogant ego maniac. He blames us (mind you we made all the adjustments requested by rainsoft at an addtional expense, to our well etc). Still doesn't work right (we have a maintence agreement yearly for 6 yrs) it intially covered anything that needed to be done throughout the year, except all of a sudden this year it only covers 1 service visit a year...of which they don't supply any paper work that states what is suppose to be covered...Don't buy from this company as you will be stuck with over priced equipment bad custumer ser

Rainsoft is a proprietary system. While it is well made this means you are stuck with their parts and service providers. Also, the local dealers are not a franchise which must answer to the home office, but independent companies. Even so, Rainsoft requires an exclusive commitment from the local dealer. This is why there are only 3 in the New England Area; NH, CT and RI. So if you have a problem with your provider, you are SOL.
