Johnson State College, established in 1828, is a public arts college that offers a variety of graduate, undergraduate, research and professional degree programs to students. The courses and programs offered by the university include agricultural engineering, business administration, natural sciences, fine and performing arts, chemistry, physics, foreign languages, history, engineering, medical technology, communications, economics, English, public administration, nursing, and hospitality and tourism management. The sports activities offered by the university include baseball, basketball, golf, football, cross-country, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.
