Guha Krishnaswamy, MD, is Professor of Internal Medicine at Wake Forest School of Medicine, Winston Salem, NC. He serves as Chief of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology at Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC and affiliated institutions/Clinics He completed his training at Quillen College of Medicine and at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine In 2009, he was selected USA Today’s Most Influential Physician (Asthma). He has been elected to “Best Doctors, USA.”, and has been the recipient of the TRICITY Business Award, Patients Choice Award and Most Compassionate Physicians Award. Dr. Krishnaswamy is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Physicians, and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology He has published over 160 papers that have appeared in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, Chest, Journal of Critical Care Medicine, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Annals of Allergy and Immunology and Science. He has contributed to over 30 book chapters in the area of inflammation biology. His interests include mast cell disease, refractory urticaria, urticarial vasculitis, severe allergy and anaphylaxis, angioedema, eosinophilic asthma, immune deficiency and inflammatory disorders He serves on several editorial boards and has additional certifications in osteoporosis and asthma education
