- Teeth CleaningI have been a patient of Dr. Kucko's since my arrival to the Binghamton area in 2003. My experiences at this office have only been positive. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, utilizing the latest and greatest technology and tools to ensure the most optimal oral health care for their patients. They are caring, always willing to work along side the patient regarding their plan of care as well as their financial circumstances. Lastly, but surely not least, the staff is friendly and welcoming. Recently my 3 year old daughter visited the office for her first teeth cleaning, and they were wonderful about making her feel comfortable and safe. Now my daughter looks forward to her special dental trips every 6 months! Thanks for all that you do! Nina Schroeter...
- FillingsAlthough many dental offices have used these fillings until the recent past, we have not used amalgam filling material on our clients for over 30 years, when it was not popular to do so. Besides the obvious drawbacks of the material as follows...
- Gold RestorationsCast gold restorations don't just fill the tooth, they support the tooth from the crushing forces of chewing.
- VeneersThe size of the front (anterior) teeth and the surrounding gum line play an important role in the appearance and esthetics of a person's smile. In the case of an actual client below, the gum line above the two front teeth appears to be enlarged and the size of the teeth, by comparison, are relatively short. With these two factors combined, the overall appearance is not pleasing. The after photograph shows PHASE 1 of the crown lengthening procedure. Already it is evident that the smile is improving in proportionality of tooth to gum. PHASE 2 will entail placing veneers over the anterior teeth to remove the diastema - space between front teeth. Coming soon!
- CrownsThe restoration has been placed with temporary bonding material to last the few days until the permanent crown is cemented.

- Root Canal TreatmentPeriodontal pathogens have now been established to have a direct causal link to arteriosclerotic vascular disease (ASVD). Periodontal disease can cause systemic inflammation and can also adversely affect the essential mechanisms in the pathogenesis of ASVD. Hence, dentists are now integral partners with the medical community when it comes to prevention of heart disease, a leading cause of death in our nation. Along with periodontal disease, it has been shown that abscessed teeth and failing endodontic treatments (root canal therapies) can also contribute to ASVD. Recent published studies suggest that up to 50% of all heart attacks may be triggered by an infection in the mouth. Dentists now have the opportunity to not only save people's teeth but to actually help save lives.
- DenturesA crown may be constructed to restore an individual damaged tooth back to it's original form and function, while a bridge may be utilized to replace one or more teeth. These restorations are cemented onto the teeth and are referred to as "fixed" dentistry as opposed to a restoration of missing teeth with a removable appliance or partial denture.
- Dental ImplantsThe roots of your teeth are anchored to your jaw which is why they can hold it in place - much like the roots of a tree. The implants are placed to make contact with the bone, tricking it into thinking that the root of the tooth is present. This encourages new tissue growth around the implant, thereby creating a natural bond between bone and metal. Without the dental implant in the root position, you will lose jawbone mass and density over time.
- Teeth WhiteningLight-assisted whitening consists of the application of a translucent bleaching gel to the teeth. An ultra bright white light is then used to activate the crystals in the gel to absorb the energy from the light and penetrate the teeth enamel to increase the lightening effect on the teeth. The length of time in the dental chair depends on the degree of discoloration you have.
