I took my vehicle in cause the AC was blowing warm air early that morning. At the end of the day, there was no courtesy call to tell me what was wrong or if they needed the car another day. I got a ride back there and the owner (black hair w/mustach) states they just pulled the car in 5 min ago. He checked with the mechanic, came back and told me that it needs a new compressor, and all this other stuff, about 4-5hrs labor $400+, plus compressor $400, plus other items, another $250 or more, estimated $1000+, that was estimated in his head, not even written on paper. They basically wanted to gut the system and replace everything. Decided to fix it myself, took couple cans of freon at $3 can, and I recharged the system myself. I feel sorry for all the non-mechanical people that take stuff to this shop. BEWARE get a 2nd opinion!!! They *DID NOT* take the time to diagnose the problem, all they wanted to do was throw parts at it and make some $. Shame on them!!!
