As an orthopaedic surgeon, she specializes in correcting problems of the hand and arm.Everybody uses their hands constantly every day, Dr. Wilson notes. As a surgeon, Im able to help people when something goes wrong. We get instantaneous results with surgery. She received a medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where she also completed an orthopaedic residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. She then was chosen for the Mary S. Stern Hand Fellowship, a year of advanced sub-specialty training at the University of Cincinnati.Dr. Wilson brings the latest procedures to treat a variety of hand conditions, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger and Dupuytrens Disease, as well as fractures, breaks, sprains and other injuries. She grew up in the small farming community of Germantown, Illinois, the ninth of 10 children. And although she and her husband, Steven, werent planning to have a big family themselves, Dr. Wilson has four daughters including triplets. My husband wanted to have a second child so our daughter wasnt an only child, she laughs. I guess we got really lucky! Twins have occurred in both their families but this is the first set of three.Steven Wilson is a science teacher and wrestling coach at Helias High School.
