The Housing Authority of the City of Jefferson provides affordable homes for families, senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. It also administers the Section 8 Housing Choice voucher program. The housing authority operates more than 310 public housing units that include one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments and several rental houses. It administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, which helps eligible families pay the rent for apartments owned by private landlords.
