Kimball International is a vertically integrated manufacturer and marketer of consumer durable products. The company s Furniture and Cabinets Segment provides wood and metal case goods, seating and systems furniture for the office, hospitality and health care industries. The Kimball Hospitality Segment designs and manufactures furniture for the hospitality and government markets. The Electronic Contract Assemblies Segment provides design engineering, manufacturing, packaging and distribution of electronic assemblies and circuit boards on a contract basis to customers in the transportation, industrial, telecommunications, computer and medical industries. In addition, Kimball offers materials, such as plywood, veneer, metal stamping and molded plastics to external customers. Since its founding in 1950, Indiana-based Kimball has grown from less than 30 employees into an international organization with approximately 9,000 employees. The company was ranked in Fortune magazine s 500 Largest Industrial Companies in 2003, 2002, 1999, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1992, 1990, 1989 and 1988.
