- In-clinic services Functional capacity evaluations (FCE) Work hardening - This bridges the gap between initial acute injury management and returning to work. We create an individualized program based on the client’s intake evaluation. Work hardening might include: Job simulation, Progressive strengthening, BTE work simulator, Cardiovascular fitness, or Injury prevention education. Functional conditioning -A progressive conditioning program based primarily on functional strengthening for clients that might not have a specific job to return to, or need to maximize their physical abilities in order to resume a productive lifestyle. Post-offer screenings - This evaluation provides information about an individual’s physical capability to perform essential job functions. It is based upon ADA-compliant job descriptions submitted by the customer or completed by our therapists. On-site job assessments Functional job analysis - We evaluate essential and marginal job functions under one job title in compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act regulations. Alternative job placement - We assess the description of a job’s tasks. This helps us look for alternative job placement and matching when an existing employee’s functional capabilities do not meet current job demands. Other uses of job analysis include job re-structuring, such as job sharing, pod development, or rotating job tasks. Ergonomic screening - We identify high-risk areas for upper extremity and/or back musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). In-depth ergonomic evaluation - This detailed analysis of high-risk areas identified in the ergonomic survey looks for possible risk factors for MSDs. Ergonomic modifications - We recommend ways to modify tools, job stations, and work behaviors. This can be low cost or no cost by using existing staff and equipment. On-site medical management Preventive stretching exercise program - Stretching counteracts the effects of many physical job demands. Job-specific exercises interrupt repetitive motion, or awkward or static posture, with a brief movement in the opposite direction. Early intervention - We use one-on-one evaluation to identify workers with musculoskeletal symptoms. Early intervention is consistent with OSHA’s proposed ergonomic standard and may include supports, ice, heat, exercises, job modifications, and safe work practices. Train the trainer - We identify and train key people within an organization to form an ergonomics team. We also help supervisors identify ergonomic risks and offer strategies for remediation. This program—an investment in the future safety of the organization—identifies, and controls MSDs as they arise. Americans with Disabilities Act compliance assistance - This involves provision of practical recommendations for reasonable accommodations and facility accessibility as required by the ADA for covered persons.
