Mr. kala Thioune is the Founder, owner​ ad president of the West African Store. Inc. He founded the establishment in 1989 and has dedicated his life to maintaining its integrity. Mr. Thioune is a native of Senegal, West Africa and has made it his life's work of capturing the beauty of Africa in his life's work of capturing the beauty of Africa in his original clothing designs. The roots of the West African Store began with Mr. kala Thioune who envisioned a place where the beauty of West Africa could be bought to life in a colorful manner. Using hs trade as a tailor, his eye foe business and his creative talents he incorporated these skills into something marketable, a boutique that would reflect his dream.
