Founded in 1972, the Jamaica Service Program for Older Adults, also known as JSPOA, is a nonprofit organization that provides more than 20 types of home- and community-base services for older adults. The organization is funded by corporations, foundations, individuals and governmental organizations. The Jamaica Service Program for Older Adults serves over 5,000 senior citizens annually. Its centers are accredited by the National Council on the Aging's and the National Institute on Senior Centers. The organization features various social, recreational, educational and intergenerational programs. Additionally, the Jamaica Service Program for Older Adults provides respite care, transportation and in-house services. The organization is located in Jamaica, N.Y.
