I usually rent car through Budget and this is the first time I rented through Alamo. I had a wonderful experience with Alamo and would love to switch to Alamo.

I had made a reservation online on budget site to pick-up the car at JFK airport for 9am however on check-in, they told me the car is not ready and they are sold out. They also told me that my pick-up time was 9pm in the system and they will have the car ready. On checking my reservation, I saw it was for 9am so not sure how in her system it was 9pm when online on budget site it still showed 9am. Anyways, I had a transatlantic flight and all I wanted was to get home ASAP and budget didn't have any car. They suggested to call in another agency which can drive us for $400 which is way expensive. I walked next door to Alamo and was able to get the car in less than 10 mins and walk out of the parking lot. At budget it generally takes 15-25 mins for paper work setup so was pleasantly surprised with Alamo's streamlined process were I was out of the rental office in less than 10 mins. Thank you Alamo team, you guys rock.

This was my first time renting from Alamo because of the price and I wish I would of stuck with the company I usually rent from. I reserved a Minivan because I needed the room. When I got to reservation desk, I was not told that there was no more Mini vans, when I got to the parking lot the attendant advised me there was no more Mini-Vans and I will have to take a SUV. My trip was ruined. I had to cram 7 adults in an SUV for a long distance trip with no room for luggage. This is my first and last time renting from there. I will stick with Budget or Advantage. Alamo is for the birds.
