I've been taking my car to get an oil change at the dealership for the last two years and have beep happy with my service. Today I decided to take my car to Jiffy Lube (thinking it would be about the same price as the dealership or cheaper). To my surprise, it was more than double the cost for an inferior product. When I declined the service after hearing the price I was told that it was too late since they drained the oil. Feeling trapped and worn down (by a very pushy sales person named Alex who claimed not to be in sales), I gave in and had the service done. Alex threw every mind game/sales technique my way from playing with the numbers to getting me a "discount" to comparing their service/product to my purse by saying it's an inferior name brand, etc.Shortly after my experience I called the manager of the store and explained what had happened. I mentioned that I was giving him a professional courtesy that I was unhappy with my service and would be sharing my experience with others. He did not make any effort to "fix" the situation. Even after receiving $40 off my service, I was still paying $20 more than I would have if I had gone to the dealership. You have been warned. Jiffy Lube charges sky high prices, even when discounting their services.
