Adkins Electric was founded in 977 by Virgil M. Adkins as a single family and small commercial electrical contractor. By the mid 1980s Adkins Electric had become one of Jacksonville's most competitive multi-family and mid-size commercial electrical contractors in Florida. Adkins serves both commercial and multi-family, averaging 3,000 units per year, doing some of the largest commercial projects in Jacksonville. Multi-family construction is one of its primary targets. Some of the projects Adkins have completed include Allegro at Fleming Island assisted living facility, Alta at Deerwood Apartments, Amelia Crossing Retail Center - Fernandina Beach, Apartment Homes of Amelia, Avenue Royale Apartments, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Belle Terre Elementary School - Palm Coast, Celebration Baptist Church and Deer Meadows Apartments, to name a few.
