Pleasant Valley Elementary has an enrollment of more than 280 students in kindergarten through grade three. Its language arts curriculum focuses on writing, speaking, listening and reading skills. The school s math courses include various topics, such as patterns, shapes, addition and subtraction, measurements and numbers. Its social studies and science classes offer information on community leaders, customs, cultural diversity and historical figures. Pleasant Valley Elementary also provides character education classes that include topics, such as punctuality, honesty, sportsmanship, courtesy, diligence, citizenship and perseverance. Located in Jacksonville, Ala., Pleasant Valley Elementary is a part of Calhoun County Schools, which also manages a career technical center and several high and middle schools.
