In 1981, Hi-Speed Checkweigher joined Mettler-Toledo, one of the world's largest manufacturers of weighing solutions for laboratory, industrial and food retailing applications, with more than $1.4 billion in revenue in 2004. Hi-Speed Checkweigher is one of the largest checkweigher manufacturers in North America. The company, along with its sister companies Safeline and Garvens, comprises the Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection Division, the world's largest manufacturer and marketer of checkweighers, metal detection devices and other end-of-line inspection systems. When Intel Corporation developed the first microprocessor chip in 1971, Hi-Speed incorporated that technology in the development of its checkweighers. Hi-Speed Checkweigher serves local and multi-national customers throughout the world.
