IC3 is deemed the best daycare center in Ithaca. They have a very nice space and environment for the children. They are quite expensive but offer scholarships. While there are some very good staff, it is not uncommon to find dis-engaged staff. Morale is low and it is because of the leadership. Some arrogant administrators create a very corporate, cookie-cutout feel to the center and do not deal with diversity or complexity well. If they provide you financial assistance, they seem to think that you should not provide feedback, and if you do they become condescending. 95% of the time, my family was informed what my child was not, rather than focusing on my whole child. It took a year to realize that this was a toxic environment. The After School program offers enrichment programs that can be very wonderful and engaging, but some teachers scream at the children, single them out and put them in corners, creating an environment where my child didn't always feel comfortable.

Professional caring teachers willing to work with the family met the needs of my special child. There was one or two teachers, that did not meet the standards, but the others made up for that.
