Established in 1894, the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine is an educational facility that offers courses in public health, biomedical research, animal medicine and veterinary medical education. With more than 310 faculty members and over 700 staff members, it enrolls nearly 5,000 graduate students, postgraduate students and doctorate students. The Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine offers internship and residential education programs for advanced work in clinical veterinary specialties. In partnership with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, it provides health care services for companion, sporting, zoo, wildlife, and food and fiber-producing animals. The college specializes in equine performance testing, sports medicine, medical imaging, and medical and radiation oncology services, as well as performs orthopedic surgeries. Located in Ithaca, N.Y., the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine is a part of Cornell University, which conducts various educational courses for undergraduate students and graduate students.
