The Administration department is responsible for the day-to-day operations of various village departments. The department is governed by the village of Irvington in New York, which also manages police and parks and recreation departments. Its public works department develops stormwater management plans for the identification and monitoring of outfalls. The department operates a municipal stormwater system. The village government operates more than five election districts for conducting national, state and local elections. Its fire department is responsible for emergency medical and hazardous material mitigation operations. In addition, the village government operates a public library that houses a selection of books, audio cassettes and compact discs.
