  Lisa was an Associate in the commercial litigation section of the law firm of Vinson & Elkins LLP. from 1997-2003. In 2002, she participated in the Lawyer on Loan Program at the Dallas County District Attorney's office. She was an Associate in the Trial and Dispute Resolution section of the law firm of Hughes & Luce L.L.P. from 2003-2004. At those firms, she represented corporate clients in a variety of business disputes involving breaches of contract, fraud, negligence, torts, employment issues and antitrust matters, as well as representing clients in pro bono matters.

  From time to time, local governments need to acquire property for public projects. Our lawyers have extensive experience in negotiations and drafting of real estate transactions, and the complexities of eminent domain and inverse condemnation litigation.   In addition to her work on utility and right-of-way issues, Cathy has worked on ad valorem and hotel occupancy tax issues and litigation and issues involving open records requests, code adoptions, zoning, alcohol, and many other aspects of municipal law. She also helped advance many of the city's interests in the Texas Legislature and was recognized by the Texas House of Representative with a Resolution and flag in honor of her public service at the time she left the City of Irving.
