I don't like giving bad reviews unless it's warranted, but I just had the worst experience at bare tan salon in Irvine with an employee named Hayley. I bought a groupon for $30 for 10 tans in a 20 min tanning bed. Hayley informed me that I can't use it because I have been there before. I explained that I didn't realize I'd already been there because I moved to Irvine a year ago and there was a long list in groupon of tanning salons offering the same deal and I randomly picked the one That was closest. I asked her if she could make an exception. She told me "no." Since I didn't have time to go to another salon, I asked if I can speak to a manager. She said there is not a manager on duty and she was the only employee there. I reminded her that I already paid her business $30 and asked if she could please get in touch with a manager while I wait. She said she would text the manager. I waited a few minutes and asked her if she could (as a one time courtesy) let me tan now while she waits to hear back from him and maybe apply the $30 to the one tan. She agreed and let me tan. I asked for her name and thanked her. She was cold the entire time. When I got out of the tan, I asked her if she had heard back. She told me that she spoke to the manager and the owner and they both said to get my money back from groupon and to take my business elsewhere. I was shocked. I calmly said "okay, expect a Yelp review so that other people can be warned about the level of customer service here." When I walked out, I passed 3 security guards and one in a cart at the sidewalk. It suddenly occurred to me that they were all staring at me. I am 5'2. I never raised my voice. Sure I was annoyed because she wasn't offering any type of assistance. I have never been in an altercation in my life and have am MA in Mass Communication and I honestly felt like I was treated the same as an actual dangerous person. That was the most bizarre experience and I think the public should know how I was treated over a $30 groupon for a regular tanning bed.
