The sylists do an amazing job, but the front desk workers are rude.

II have been going to this Salon for over 15 years, (first location C.R.). I have never spent 500 dollars for a cut and hair color. Now where close. Someone is exagerating. Unless you bought alot of product..it would be hard to spend this much. Look at prices on websiteI love this salon services. Healthy natural looking hair. Shiney etc. Haircuts the definitely last long then 4 weeks..the last closer to 3 months. And on haircolor, I don't see the same one outside or inside this salon. They put together something that is suited to your personaility, lifestyle and face shape.Due to this shop..I don't ever look my age (60). People think I am much younger cuz I have a hairstyle that suits me..and is more youthful looking. Youdefinitely need to go more than once..and let them do their job. I have walked out thinking..what kind of hairstyle have a got..then go to work or outwith friends..and the compliments are many. It got me out of my comfort zone.. Enjoy them

Sarah took the words out of my mouth - "I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy". An uneven haircut and brassy orange highlights at this place cost me over $500 (not including the $200 I spent having someone else FIX it!). I spent years on the west coast and went to much higher end salons that were cheaper than this. It's Iowa City for crying out loud! The stylist was totally weird and obnoxious - singing and dancing around the salon when she should've been paying attention to her client's hair. Their prices are outrageous - they think they're a chic salon in Chicago or something. I should've got up out of my chair when I saw the girl next to me leaving unenthusiastically with purple-ish colored blonde hair. :(

Buzz is a ridiculous salon, overpriced and arrogant. All the good stylists are now gone, and for an increased price you get a completely average product. It's completely overrated. I will not go back and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Buzz is legendary in the Iowa City area for its determination to bring the area the best in products and in education for their stylists who train in New York and Chicago. I have been a customer of this salon for 6 years and have happy with my services no matter which stylist I have gone to. I LOVE their products!!!!

if you are looking for a stylist who does not listen to you, a place where you are treated like a second class citizen, and where you can pay an OUTRAGEOUS amount of money for very little work you have found your place. i would not recomend this place to my worst enemy. good luck
