This is not actually a review, but a response to the review below by "Anonymous". Anonymous, I understand your frustration with these companies, as I work in customer service myself. Lowrance should have dealt with your issue more appropriately as the manufacturer of the Elite 5 unit, however Outdoorsman's should have offered a resolution under a dealer return policy. Anyhow, you mentioned "Eagle". Eagle IS a part of Lowrance/Simrad/Northstar/B&G. All are part of a company called Navico. Eagle & Lowrance are basically one & the same, so I thought you might be interested in that minor detail. Hopefully in the future Lowrance will step up as I have heard MANY negative stories in regards to their customer service. The best service I have ever gotten in the marine electronics industry was from Navionics - by far! Good luck in the future & hopefully Outdoorsman's will step it up in the future, for the sake of their reputation, as well!

I purchased a Lowrance Elite-5 on Aug 3rd from Outdoorsman Headquarters in Intll Falls Minn. I took it out the next morning and it worked great , For 20 minutes then the screen went.I returned it to the store less then 24 hours after I purchased it. Apparently they have a different idea about what good service is. They should have hooked this up in the store and checked it first then this unit should have been replaced but the best they would do is sent it to Lowrance for me. Makes me wonder why I paid about $60 more to buy locally so I could get local service. I contacted Lowrance and they also dont know the meaning of good service. Well its now 4 weeks and I am still waiting for a unit that should have lasted more then 20 minutes before it died. I should have stuck with a name I could trust like Hummingbird or eagle. If you are considering purchasing a unit I would suggest staying clear of the elite-5 by Lowrance.
