The Awareness Group provides alcohol and drug education and treatment programs, and is the oldest program of its kind in the Desert area. Its founding director was Howard Bibby. His principles and knowledge in dealing with impaired drivers is maintained by a dedicated staff of professionals. Classes help to satisfy the court requirements for clients who have been arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) or an offense requiring a Drug Diversion (PC1000) program. Staff work closely with the Department of Motor Vehicles to provide the paperwork for clients to restore their driver's licenses. All counselors are State Certified, and all programs are licensed by the State of California and approved by Riverside County. The Awareness Group provides these required programs in a supportive and friendly environment. Showing respect for each individual's dignity and acting with professionalism are at the core of program services. Programs are designed to meet the needs of individuals, helping them make a lifestyle change in addition to meeting their court requirements.
