• Criminal Defense
  Many false arrest or malicious prosecution cases may have concurrent criminal cases in which the individual is acquitted following a lengthy pretrial and trial process. Whether someone has charges dismissed prior to trial or is acquitted at trial, how the underlying criminal case is handled can affect a later civil case for damages in a Section 1983 claim. Cooperation among counsel at both stages of representation can make a difference for our clients. We encourage criminal defense counsel to seek review of 
their client’s potential civil claims in advance of a civil suit being brought.
• Wrongful Death
  We litigate in challenging areas of civil rights and constitutional law. Our cases include false arrest, police brutality and misconduct, inhumane prison conditions, lack of medical/mental health care for incarcerated individuals, wrongful death, failure to protect, civil rights and equal protection, whistle blowing and First Amendment, the rights of vulnerable populations – such as children, ethnic and racial minorities, and individuals with disabilities – consumer class actions and other civil rights violations.
