- UltrasoundUltrasound imaging uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the inside of your body. It is safe, simple and painless. No radiation is involved, and radiologists and physicians can see the images in real time.
- MRIMagnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses a powerful magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to produce detailed pictures of your organs, soft tissues, bones and other internal body structures.
- RadiologyNorthwest Radiology complies with applicable Federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex. Northwest Radiology does not exclude people or treat them differently because of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex.
- X-Rays
- Nuclear MedicineNuclear medicine uses radioactive materials and special imaging techniques to study both the structure and function of organs and other tissues inside your body.
- Mammography3D mammography (tomosynthesis) is a screening and diagnostic tool that allows doctors to screen for breast cancer with much greater accuracy.
- Computed TomographyA PET/CT scan is a highly-accurate scan that shows your organ and tissue function, blood vessels and bones. PET/CT combines positron emission tomography (PET) with computed tomography (CT) to create detailed images about your body’s structure and the cell function.
- ChemotherapyGuided by a variety of imaging tools, our interventional radiologists provide diagnosis/biopsy and targeted, minimally-invasive treatment directly to the tumor. This can be accomplished by inserting a needle directly into the tumor and administering either heat or cold energy to burn or freeze tumors. We can also inject high doses of chemotherapy or radiation (Y90) directly into the tumor, which can offer an adjunct for tumor therapy, pain relief and, ultimately, shortens the recovery time and lowers the chance of complications. These procedures are most often done on an outpatient basis and usually do not require a hospital stay. In fact, we are proud to be the only outpatient center in Indiana offering outpatient Y90 therapy, a safe, highly-effective treatment for cancer in the liver that targets tumors with a high dose of radiation without affecting other, healthy parts of the body.
- Interventional RadiologyOur physicians treat a variety of conditions specific to men’s health, such as prostate enlargement, or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a common condition that affects men as they age. We also treat varicoceles, enlargement of the veins in the scrotum. Learn more about how men can benefit from our vascular and interventional radiology services.
- HysterectomyUterine fibroids are the most common benign pelvic tumors in women; they are more common and severe among African American women. For many women, a hysterectomy is often the next step, but that is not the only solution. The radiologists with Vascular & Interventional Physicians of Northwest Radiology perform outpatient uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), and Dr. Joshua Dowell discusses the procedure with WISH-TV.
