Community Health Network is comprised of five tertiary care hospitals, five immediate care centers, three nursing homes, and numerous other health care facilities located throughout central Indiana. Community's facilities are licensed for over 930 beds and approximately 8,500 full-time employees work within the Community network. Community Health Network began operations in 1956 with the opening of a new hospital to service the East Side of Indianapolis. Community Health Network is headquartered in Indianapolis and is comprised of seven corporate entities, both profit and nonprofit. It also includes five hospitals with a total of 1,500 beds, three nursing homes, a primary care physician network with 120 owned practices, 30 ambulatory care centers, seven network-wide product lines and six independent surgery centers.
