Kenton Elementary School, located in Independence, Ky., provides a safe learning environment for learning. Governed by the Kenton County School District, it teaches classes from grades kindergarten through five, and enrolls more than 700 students with a teacher-to-student ratio of 1-to-20. The school follows an intensive educational program for all students and focuses on areas, that include academic intervention, vocabulary instruction, writing instruction and attendance. Kenton Elementary School provides an intensive curriculum that follows state standards and district guidelines. Its KYCID program, which stands for Kentucky center for instructional discipline, is a plan to design a process for procedures and data collection to improve the school s culture. Kenton Elementary School s KYCID program is also a method for teaching and monitoring responsible behavior. The school provides school nurse, food services, custodial staff, library, athletic activities, and various extracurricular programs.
