Independence High School operates under Independence Community School District, and offers educational program to more than 550 students in grades nine through 12. Its curriculum includes English, mathematics, environmental science, social studies, sociology, industrial arts and foreign language. In addition, it provides special education classes that include creative sewing, nutrition and health, parenting, college research and writing and creating fictional form. The school offers extracurricular activities that include music, speech, arts, club, drama, choir, band and physical education. It also offers sports, such as basketball, golf, baseball, tennis, wrestling, volleyball, track, soccer, football and cross-country. Its facilities include classrooms, gymnasium, library, resource room, cafeteria, staff lounge and administrative office. Independence High School is located in Independence, Iowa.
