The City of Hurst Fire Department works to protect lives and property of more than 35,000 residents living in an area of over 10 square miles. It provides fire education, inspection, investigation, suppression and rescue services. The department operates a fleet of engines, aerial quints, ladder trucks and advanced life support care ambulances. The City of Hurst Fire Department conducts various fire prevention and education programs and investigations. It responds to bomb threats and hazardous material incidents, as well as offers information regarding home and child safety. The department is comprised of more than 50 firefighters and paramedics who are responsible for providing high-angle, water, trench and arson rescue services. Established in 1952, the City of Hurst Fire Department also maintains a communication and dispatch center. It is located in Hurst, Texas.
