NorthWestern Energy is one of the largest providers of electricity and natural gas in the upper Midwest and Northwest. It serves more than 656,000 customers and provides electric and natural gas services to over 300 cities in the western Montana, eastern South Dakota and central Nebraska. The company maintains nearly 7,000 miles of transmission lines and associated terminal facilities and approximately 270 circuit segments. NorthWestern Energy also owns a 500-kilovolt transmission system that transfers electricity generated from the Colstrip generation facility. It has received the Emergency Recovery Award by Edison Electric Institute and the ServiceOne award.
