Gary is the son of an early Redstone Arsenal Engineer, and enjoyed growing up in Huntsville. After attending the University of Alabama, earning a degree in mechanical engineering in 1970, Gary furthered his education at the University of Alabama School of Law, graduating in 1974. Gary’s early career introduced him to several areas of practice including criminal law and real estate. He eventually delved into litigation as his primary field of concentration.

Gary’s vast litigation experience and natural negotiating skills has made him a sought-after attorney in fields of product liability, professional liability, premises liability, personal injury, civil rights litigation, zoning law, trucking litigation and boundary disputes. Gary is also privileged to serve as counsel for the American Board of Funeral Service Education, providing advice and counsel in matters involving accreditation and educational services.

Her appellate practice has taken her to both Federal and State Appellate Courts, where she is admitted to practice in all Alabama State Courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Jennifer is pleased to serve as a ghost appellate writer, as well as handling new cases brought to her for appeal following trial.

- Personal InjuryNathan C. Hill is a native of Meridianville, Alabama where he grew up playing baseball for various local teams. He graduated from Hazel Green High School in 2008. He is also a graduate of Troy University with a B.S. in criminal justice. At Troy, Nathan set multiple school records as a relief pitcher for the Troy Trojans baseball team, and still holds the record for appearances in a single season. Nathan helped Troy baseball win conference championships in 2011 and 2013; he was also part of the first Troy athletic team to achieve a top-25 ranking in Division 1. He relished the opportunity to face competition from future professional baseball players and SEC opponents. Nathan decided to further his education at the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama, where he graduated in 2017. Nathan joined the firm shortly after graduation and is focusing his practice in the areas of insurance defense litigation and personal injury law.
- Estate PlanningEmily J. Young has a passion for providing seniors, individuals with special needs, and their families with quality legal services and personalized care. She spent two years at Grace, Matthews, & Debro as a paralegal before deciding to attend law school in 2010. She continued to work full time for the firm while attending law school. Her experience as a paralegal gives her a unique understanding of both the legal and personal needs of clients. After graduating cum laude from the Birmingham School of Law in 2014, she struck out on her own as a solo practitioner. She later graduated with her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Estate Planning and Elder Law from Western New England University in 2019. She returned to Grace, Matthews, & Debro in 2021 and serves our clients in the areas of Elder Law, Estate Planning, Special Needs Planning, Mediation, and Business Planning.
