At Ann's, your child will not learn TO dance but will learn A dance. Everything taught is centered on the recital number to be performed at the end of the year. There seems to be almost no technique taught, and parents cannot observe classes to see what their chlid is learning. If there were observation windows in the classrooms I believe the classes would be much smaller because parents would see how little is being taught. Parking is nonexistent and the facilty is dirty. Seems that most of the great reviews are by students who have fun. What about the parents who are more interested in having their child learn something for the money. Also be prepared for a never-ended money vacuum - tuition, recital fee, costume fee, recital program fee, recital tshirt, pictures... and recital stress no small chld should be subjected to. And if the teacher can't physically do the dance being taught, how can your child learn it?

My daughter loves anns Dance Studio. We travel an hour twice a week to get there but my daughter says its worth it. The staff is wonderful and yes it is a little expensive but it is worth it especially at recital. The recital is awesome! She has made a bunch of friends all different ages and everyone is nice. We have been to different studios and we both agree that anns is the best. The teachers make up wonderful dances.

Ann's is a wonderful dance studio. We travel from Tennessee to attend classes but it is well worth it. My daughter has taken 8 years of dance and 4 have been at Ann's. Leigh Ann pushes each child according to their ability and it shows. My daughter loves everyone there and Leigh Ann's acro classes are amazing. I don't know of another dance studio where the dancers can tumble like they do at Ann's. Their recital is amazing!

if you send your child to anns, try not to take leighanns classes. she is rude and definately has some sort of social phobia! she had the worst dances at the recital because she does not care about her classes! the other teachers obviously take much more pride in their clases than leighann does.

I don't know about other dance studios, but I do know Ann's studio is very, very expensive. It seems like we are always paying for something. I also find that the students there are also very clickish, and often very mean, you are either in or you are out and I am tired of my child coming home upset because of being mistreated by the in crowd, you know the ones, the ones who always get special treatment from the staff at Ann's. Every year there are a handful that are always stuck in the front of everything and paraded out like super stars while the rest of our children are pushed to the back and get minimal front time. I understand ability rules but that handful of dancers can't be the best in everything, all the time. Maybe if more time was spent on other students they would also shine as bright.
