Somerville & Company, PLLC is a local, public accounting firm with a history of providing quality, professional services such as accounting, tax and other related services to individual and business clients. In 1932, Nathan Goff Somerville started N.G. Somerville Audit Company with a dream of serving clients across the Tri-State area. Over seventy-five years later, with clients in West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio and beyond, the firm is proud to have made his dream a reality. By 1949, the structure of the firm had changed, for William H. Richardson and Arthur L. Baumgarner became partners in 1946, and Harold E. Getrost joined in 1949. The firm continued operating under the title of N.G. Somerville Audit Company until Mr. Somerville's death in 1952. At that time, the partners formed the base of current operation and renamed the firm Somerville & Company, PLLC in his honor. Over the years, the firm has had seventeen partners, fifteen of whom have grown up in the firm. All current partners began as entry level staff. Through the years, the firm has experienced tremendous growth. Members of the Somerville team are known throughout professional and community organizations for their leadership and active participation. Eleven past and present partners have served as President of the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. The firm generates fees primarily from work in the healthcare, service industries, closely-held businesses, estate planning, business valuation and litigation support. The firm closely monitors changes in these areas and believe that they will continue to be the focus of future growth.
