Provided by YP.comI have been taking my animals to this clinic for over 20 years. They are the most loving and caring place I know

Provided by YP.comUnfortunately because of Dr. Ravitz, I will never take any of my dogs or foster dogs to Dix Hills Animal Hospital again. In July she wanted to euthanize my deaf/blind, paralyzed dog because she had an open tendon wound and as I later foud out, because she is also deaf and blind. I rescue special needs and deaf and blind dogs. I do not believe in euthanizing an animal just because they are special needs as long as quality of life is there. My dog was still acting normal and was happy. Dr. Ravitz said her wound would never heal. She is incompetent as a vet. I went to several vets afterwards and all said that my dog's wound was minor and would heal easily. And it did. No reason to euthanize. While my dog's time is limited because of her spinal cord disease, she is still happy and enjoying life. Thank goodness I didn't listen to Dr. Ravitz and didn't euthanize my dog. I found great veterinary care elsewhere. I would never recommend Dix Hills Animal Hospital or Dr. Ravitz. Especially if you have a special needs animal. Dr. Ravitz will just want to euthanize it because she incorrectly believes it is "suffering" just because it is special needs. How awful. I am so upset and angry at Dr. Ravitz. And to make it worse, Dr. Ravitz never apologized or attempted to contact me after she found out I didn't euthanize my dog. She knows she did something wrong and avoiding me was very unprofessional of her. She lost my respect and business. My dog's are too important to me to bring them to a vet that doesn't know what she is doing and just wants to euthanize without trying to help animals first.
