A company of crooks and extortionists. Several years ago I purchased several autographed Tom Brady items through a charity auction jointly put on by University of Michigan and Best Buddies. For those that don't know, Tom Attended U of M and has worked closely with Best Buddies charity for years. I am currently a medical student, and am selling a portion of my sizable sports memorabilia collection to fund my education. Upon listing my Brady items on Ebay, however, the auctions were cancelled and my account suspended for peddling "counterfeit items". I was told Tristar had reported them, and to contact them.



I contacted Tristar, asked for a supervisor, and was put in touch with one Freddie Parce. Freddie essentially extorted me, insisting that I pay for another authentication, lest he and his cronies continue to block me from selling any items that compete with theirs. Keep in mind, my items bear an authentication from the University, charity, AND a third party service, all of which I offered to provide him with! I attempted to reason with him but was smugly told they were doing this for my own good and that only their service could be trusted to authenticate Brady items, as if they were on a crusade for someone's benefit other than their own pocketbook.



I can't speak to their prowess at authenticating items, but can attest to the fact that they are severely abusing their power for personal gain, and are harassing someone with perhaps the most honorable reason for collecting and selling memorabilia - to support a worthwhile charity and fund an education in medicine. I can only hope they are stripped of the power they so abuse and potential customers will think twice about associating with a company that operates in this most shady of manners.
