After reading some of the reviews all I can say is these people must be related to the owner. I stopped in to sell 100 ounces of silver rounds and bars because of the high ratings. Silver spot was 18.25 per ounce they offered 15.00 per ounce. 3.25 dollars below spot price! I understand they are providing a service and I do not begrudge anyone a fair profit, but over 20% below spot? Went to another local buyer/dealer and was offered 17.25 per ounce which is fair. Dealing with these guys would have cost me 200+dollars. Do your due diligence and don't waste your time with these guys.

I went here because of the high star ratings that others have given and thought that this would be a better offer from my first. However, to my dismay I was offered half of my first offer. That's right half. I had two gold coins and two pendants. His offer did not even cover the coins at 79% market with the solid gold pendants for free. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I did.

Last Saturday I went to 2 other places and I'm SO glad I went to Texas Gold & Silver. They offered me a significantly larger amount of money than anyone else and I like to share what I found out. I went to 2 different chain stores and one of them passed over many items that Jae ended up finding value in, such as an old 14k gold ring. Just because the 14k etching was rubbed off, he didn't want it and said it was "no good." offered me $400. The other chain store that has many locations throughout Houston, offered me $455 which was the highest yet. But when I later met with Jae, he told me about a piece of mine that was just plated gold and worth nothing, yet the guy at chain store wanted to buy it. Obviously these people have no idea what they are looking at or buying. Jae ultimately offered me $625, which was far beyond anyone else. He had no problem to evaluate diamonds/gems in jewelry he wanted to purchase and paid for them. Jae knows what he is doing and I give highest recommendation
All these excellent reviews reflect exactly what I experienced yesterday. I took some gold jewelry to sell. Jae is professional and great to do business with. Texas gold and silver exchange center is a basic, no frills and efficient gold buying service and Jae is a straightforward, businesslike and honest individual who will appraise your items, give you an instant quote - and payment on the spot. I made some research prior to my visit and found that shopping mall outfits and internet "mail-in" businesses as well as those chain stores such as "we buy gold center" or "gold and silver buyers" etc quote you a price well below the gold value of your pieces (often as much as 50%-60%) and your best bet is to deal with a local service such as "Texas gold and silver exchange center" - you get the best return. All previous positive comments well deserved.
I always imagine that walking into a place to sell gold would be shady and more like a pawn shop. Fearing that I would be taking advantage of financially, I hesitated. But I had read the review for Texas gold and silver exchange cnter and thought I'd give it a chance. The staff who helped me, He was honest, explained what he was looking for, and gave me an amazing price for my old jewelry. It was safe, easy, quick, and I felt that was very fair. Oh, they really do what they say...This experience exceeded my expectations. You know all of them saying online " We pay more", so I didn't expect anything special. I'd been to some places, and these guys were way far from all the offers I got! Lucky I found that place. They were very friendly and professional.

If you are truly serious about retaining the value of your hard earned / saved dollars, you need to pay TEXAS GOLD AND SILVER EXCHANGE CENTER a visit. These guys are fabulous and are in business for all the right reasons. They aren't going to pull your chain. They are straight shooters interested in helping us help ourselves. They are highly recommended!
It would be difficult to say the transaction is anything less than uncomfortable since the whole pawn shop industry has always had a stigma of shadiness. It makes is even more difficult since you really have no idea what to expect and you don't exactly have the tools or knowledge which is why you are here in the first place. Texas gold and silver exchange center understood this on some level and seemed to try to make the most out of it for the customer so I've already gone to them several times. I'm totally satisfied with their service.
I had a great experience here. I saw this place had positive reviews from superpage and high ratings off of both superpage and yellowpage, so I thought it seemed like a great choice to sell some random jewelry. I had a three mismatched earrings, a broken chain, and a locket I never wore. I popped into Texas Gold & Silver exchange center during my lunch break and within ten minutes, they had tested my jewelry and offered me a reasonable price for them. Lastly, the staff was very helpful and explained every step of the process. Definitely check them out!!

Gave me more money for gold than anyone else. I had some old jewelry that was sitting around the house that I wanted to get rid of. I first went to Texas Gold and Silver Exchange Center and I left there to see how much others would offer as I planned. I ended up going back to texas gold and silver because they offered me little more than $300.00 dollars the best offer that I got. Wish I would have done that at first so I could save time and gas. Next time I will go to Texas gold and silver exchange center to save time and money. Lastly, I really want to thank David for his help.
I went to this place because of the reviews and friend's referral. Jae help me out and explained the process and tested each piece of jewelry I had and got a great pay out for the jewelry I traded in. Great customer service and I will definitely be back.

Had a great experience trading my gold here! The staff I dealt with was just nice and friendly man. The process was simple, he checked the gold right then and there in front of me and gave me a good price for my jewelry. Definitely recommending it to my friends and family and coming back in the future.

I had gone to several different places and texas gold and silver paid the most for my jewelry. They deserve to be the best place to trade gold and silver in H-town!

Times are tough and I have had to liquidate some gold and silver, and dealing with Jae at Texas gold and silver exchange center has been a pleasure, given the circumstances. He is a standup businessman and I don't think I will trade with any other exchange for this reason, and that Texas gold and silver exchange center pays the best rate for precious metals as compared to other places.
