Stay away from Motor City Engines ! The owner Chris Sykes is a crook and a very dishonest businessman. I'am very surprised that he is still in business after all the people on the West side of Houston that he has ripped-off including myself. Take your business elsewhere you will be better off in the long run. Danny G.

I have heard about this place through the grapevine and they did a number on me two years ago also. They had my engine for overhaul for almost a year. They lost my cylinder heads and misplaced my crankshaft. When I asked the owner Chris about this he said that they were at another shop but he told me upfront that all work was done in house. I collected all of my parts,paid what I owed and took it to another shop across town. My engine was rebuilt there in two weeks. Motor City Engines is not an iseal business in my books. James W.

Do not take your engine here for overhaul. I paid half up front by check and had to threaten to stop payment to get any work done by the owner Chris. Eight months later my engine was rebuilt using my old cam lifters with a new camshaft! The owner Chris is not a very good engine re-builder. Better places in the phone book.

This is a very unprofessional shop! It took over a year to get my engine back . I will take my business elsewhere from now on. Shoddy workmanship on the finished product.

RUN AWAY is all I will say....3 years and still not done...n ow claims he was never paid--good thing he was paid with a check.....

Friendly, knowledgeable, reasonably priced and honest. Chris and his crew fixed the rear differential in my 99 Dodge 1500 and helped do the heads on my son's '67 Jeepster Commando. Also recomended a first class transmission shop when the truck hit 120,000 miles. Highly recomended.
